Upcoming In-Person Stuff
My favorite annual mountain theological get-together happens the first week of July just outside Teton National Park. Click this ORTCON ‘25 to register. I think the title of my session will be Jesus is the Answer Question.
What about a non-mountain theological get-together? Glad you asked. It’s Theology Beer Camp and it happens Oct 16-18. I’ll be there talking a little mimesis and open and relational theology. Grab a ticket soon. Not only does the price increase at the end of June, but also, there’s a limit to the number of participants this year.
Upcoming Book Stuff
I’m clavicle-deep into a series I’ll be introducing sometime in late Summer or early Fall called the Micro-Theology Series (or hmmm …. should it be lowercase micro-theology series? 🤔). The series will be "micro" in word count only. The topics span a wide breadth of theological inquiry.
I’ve been thinking about taking a “micro” approach for a few different reasons:
Because of the interesting work my neuro-spicy, Substack friend
, has been doing with something she calls micro prose.Unless you work in the Fantasy genre, with its seemingly unending appetite for 900-page doorstoppers 😂, a writer should probably recognize, at least from time to time, that modern-day readers have modern-day attention spans.
Also, because why not?
Not that I don't have plenty of other things to be working on—oh, hey, do you know about LoveHaiti? Gosh, you should. Providing education? Healthcare? In some of the world's poorest and most desperate situations? Plus, a compelling origin story? Yeah, click the link. Think about it. ♥️🇭🇹
Thanks everyone, I hope you are doing well. Never hesitate to reach out. Might take be a couple of days to respond, but I’ll be there.
✌🏼Jonathan
PS - If you haven’t yet subscribed to this publication … do it.
Than you for the mention, Jonathan, and of course you know what I am going to say the micro approach for your theology sessions...yes yes!! 🙌🏼
